As he stood in the snow and looked at the cabin, Ray began to wonder.
What was he doing here?
Why had he come?
Why had he left his nice, warm home, to find someone who probably didn't want to see him?
But he knew why.
He'd made a promise.
Okay, so he'd never sent the letter. But a promise is a promise.
He had to keep it.
And he would.
Once he'd thought of what to say.
"Why don't you come inside, Ray? It's much warmer."
He still hadn't thought of what to say when Benny led him inside.
Heaven And Earth is the sequel to this story.
