Impossible.

I can't feel this way.

I love Peg.

I can't want him. A man. My best friend. My partner in crime.

I can't.

But I do.

I do want him. I want his arms around me. I want . . .

God help me, I want his lips on mine. His hands . . .

No.

I won't think like that.

I can't.

It's ridiculous.

Nonsense.

Impossible.

He's looking at me.

He knows.

And I know something: he wants me.

And ridiculous or not, I know there'll come a day when . . .

When it won't be nonsense any longer.

We will be together.
