WAITING

The third story in the Lost And Found Series.
Finally Ducky stops walking.
An established relationship story.
Written: February 2009. Word count: 200.
Finally exhausted from walking and crying, Ducky stopped.
For several minutes he just stood. He didn't even notice he was shivering as freezing winds bit into him. Nor did he notice snow was falling.
When he did look around he recognised where he was. It was here, in this very place, he had met Ari. Here he had walked towards Gerald's car, expecting a bullet to tear into him at any moment.
It hadn't.
For a moment, he wished it had done so. If it had, he wouldn't be here now, in so much pain, in so much anguish.
Through the darkness he saw a bench and slowly made his way towards it. He lowered himself carefully and sat there waiting.
Waiting for what he wasn't certain.
He just knew he couldn't walk any further.
He knew he couldn't cry anymore.
Suddenly he feared he'd never be able to cry or feel anything ever again. It was as if when he stopped walking, stopped crying, his emotions had become as frozen as the air around him.
A part of him told him he should get out of the cold.
But he hadn't any energy left to move.
He would wait.
